The Neuroscience Program held its Annual Research Day on April 23rd, 2025. A year-end celebration of neuroscience research conducted across Temple’s many research labs, the event allows undergraduate and Master’s students to present posters of their independent research and final projects.
Daniel Lopez, CLA ‘26, was on hand discussing his poster, SARS-CoV 2 Spike Protein and Cocaine Effects on the Blood Brain Barrier and Long-COVID in the Rat. He had this to say about the event:
To me, developing and building upon an idea through research is one of the most poetic pursuits. Neuroscience Research Day offered a platform for me and other students to share our “poetry,” thus hopefully inspiring and teaching others. This communication is one of the pillars of science, as it creates new viewpoints which generate new questions and potential applications for science!
The day concluded with the announcement of the poster competition winners. Posters were judged based on several criteria, including the poster’s visual presentation, the study’s design, data analysis and interpretation, and the student’s ability to handle questions. Undergraduate posters were judged by doctoral students, while Master's posters were judged by faculty.
