That’s the promise the College of Liberal Arts makes (and keeps) to all of our incoming students. We know deciding to attend college is a big one, both in life and financially, so we're committed to keeping costs down. We're one of only three schools/colleges at Temple University that do not charge a tuition differential, so what you see is what you pay. Our priority is helping you graduate with less student debt. 

Temple’s base tuition for 2024 - 2025* is as follows.

• Pennsylvania residents: $18,864
• Out-of-state/international residents: $33,912

Undergraduate Financial Aid and Scholarships

Temple University founder Dr. Russell H. Conwell believed that education should be available to anyone on the basis of their intellectual and personal motivation, regardless of their income. Here are a few ways we honor that vision today.

• Sixty-nine percent of first-year Temple students receive need-based aid. 
• More than half of Temple students received merit-based scholarship offers in recent years. 
• Temple students receive over $100 million in scholarships annually.

Cost should never be a barrier to preventing eager learners from access to higher education. At the College of Liberal Arts, we strive to make a college degree affordable for all qualified applicants. Attending college in a major city has more benefits than just access to a ton of fun things off-campus. It means access to major corporations, nonprofits, and culture. These are the things that will allow you the opportunity to gain experience that students attending a university in a rural or even more suburban area might not have.

Temple Promise Program

The Temple Promise is a new last-dollar financial aid grant program designed to make a world-class education at Temple University more accessible and affordable regardless of a student’s financial means. By reducing financial barriers, the program ensures ambitious, curious and engaged students admitted to Temple can join our community of learners who make an impact in and out of the classroom.

For the 2024–2025 academic year, the Temple Promise program will begin with qualifying first-year, full-time undergraduate students residing in Philadelphia County who earn admission to the university. It will ease educational costs for families by closing the remaining gap after other financial aid awards are applied toward in-state Pennsylvania undergraduate tuition and eligible fees. Visit the Temple Promise page below to learn more about the program and eligibility requirements.
