Each year, Temple’s Master of Public Policy program hosts a variety of professional development and speaker events for students, faculty, alumni, and the public.

Professional Development Workshops for Students: These workshops are designed to provide supplemental knowledge on skills and tools essential to working in the public policy field and succeeding professionally. Workshops in this series also give students an opportunity to learn about a variety of career paths and jobs in the public policy field.
- Careers in Policy & Advocacy with Labor Unions in partnership with Rebuilding American Values and local labor unions (Fall 2024)
- Policy Memo Writing with MPP alum Sara DeNault (Fall 2024)
- Finding & Analyzing Legislation with MPP alum Tom Holroyd (Spring 2025)
Panel Speaker Events: As the Public Policy program at Philadelphia’s leading public university, we believe it is our responsibility to deliver expert insight and forum for discussion on critical current issues, not only for our students, but the university and public as a whole.
- October 2024 - Panel speaker event featuring expert faculty from Temple’s College of Liberal Arts on “U.S. Domestic Policy in the 2024 Presidential Election”
- April 2025 - Panel speaker event featuring experts from the Philadelphia area and across the country on “Strategies on Attaining Affordable Housing in Philadelphia and Beyond”
The MPP program also hosted its first-ever Alumni Networking Event in October 2024!
Fall 2025 Event Preview - Careers in Public Service Workshop: In November 2025, the MPP program will host its biennial Careers in Public Service Workshop, an event featuring multiple panels of experienced policy practitioners, public officials, and alumni and opportunities for networking throughout the day.
